(The future) Ms. Hobie Brown met while they were both attending college, with Hobie studying in Engineering, while Mindy was studying to be a chef.

I made Mindy a optimistic, yet cheerful female living in Manhattan (through scholarship) with a added love for fashion (I figured food and fashion went hand in hand). the total opposite of Hobie's sarcastic, lovable cocky jerk behavior.

She doesn't know about Hobie's double life (yet) but her opinions on The Prowler may even surprise Hobie himself.

As the Prowler, Hobie has a small handful of heroes he would call "acquaintances", and half that "friends", but as Hobie Brown, there is only one that close to his heart.

One of the trying aspects of starting this project was that if I was going to redesign the Prowler, then everything needed to be reworked, retooled and look different. The hardest part for me was surprisingly his insignia.

... THEY HELL IS THIS?

Seriously, to this day I STILL have no idea what that was supposed to be, other than unrecognizable! The goal was to make it simplistic, yet easy to remember. Not too flashy to distract the viewer from everything else, but cannot be so dull that it's forgotten or brings the entire assemble down.

Clearly I still have work to do.

Project PROWLER CH 04 - The "Purple Haze"

The Prowler relies more on his brains rather than his fists, using mind games to one up his opponents in getting the deceive edge on his villainous foe (Why not, the villains do that all the time). With array of gadgets and gizmos to his disposal he relies on his more easy to dispatch devices, the "Purple Haze!"

A purple gas how's properties can ranging from hallucinogenic, holographic & even a strong "sleep gas" all depending on how quickly the fight will end?

Project PROWLER CH 03 - "The Helmet"

With the helmet I was going for a electronic, digital look to it. His eyes and mouth are present, using wave lengths to emit emotions. I didn't want it to look like Mystero's bowl, but rather an actual helmet, everything looking ghostly green (pr purple) without the eyes present. Trying to push the "terror to all enemies" factor (abet failed) :/

Project PROWLER CH 02 - "The Suit"

The idea Hobie Brown, a brilliant mind with a love for special effects decided to pitch his creations to his employer at the studio he works for. The boss pretty much shuts him down, but later ends up taking Hobie's own work and claiming it for his own. Angry, Hobie devises a plan to steal back what was originally his, but in order to do that he'll need to "borrow" some "unused" items.

A couple of sketches later I changed my idea to more of a "re-birth" of The Prowler taking place in between and after the "Siege" saga as a scornful hero who feels betrayed by the Avengers (and Parker Spidey) for "abandoning him while being locked up for his Anti Superhero Registration stance.

The concept of his suit is based on Mysterio's original appearance as well a little bit of his Ultimate Spider-Man version. I wanted Hobie to be "tech ready" and rely more on his intellect, rather than his fists. More like a cocky "smarter than you" vigilante.
