On the other hand we have Ashton Lake! Unlike his "friend" Rex, Ashton is the realistic of the two, more "glass half empty than full". Sarcastic, gloomy and mostly irritated (thank Rex) he sees the world in an annoying display of bright colors and smiling lies as he soldiers through the unprecedented battlefield called "high school"!

He knows that a guy such as himself will not have the same appeal as Rex, so he stays to keep him in check, well? He tries?
